Students from Mark Warner’s Martial Arts Academy will undertake a wooden board break-a-thon to raise funds and awareness about Bright Happy Power. Leukemia patient Jessie Doktor was a karate student at Mark Warner’s Martial Arts Academy, and earned her purple belt there before entering transplant. Other North Shore children supported by our organization have been welcomed on scholarships as students at the dojo. Additionally, the dojo’s students have regularly adopted Bright Happy Power as one of the recipients for their community service projects.
The Break-a-thon will be hosted at the dojo — 43 Market Street, Ipswich, MA — on Saturday, April 12 at 1:30. Students will each break up to 10 boards. We wish all of the particicpants, and their sponsors, the spiritual power of a booming “Ki-ai!”
