crane_folding_handsClick this link to play the video as artist Aileen Ang walks us step-by-step through crane-folding instructions to create an origami paper crane. (Hint: start with a square piece of paper – rice paper is easiest.)

Crane_FoldingInstructions_bookmark_flatThis is our bookmark, downloadable as a PDF to use as a reminder about how to fold the cranes.

Volunteers for Bright Happy Power have folded thousands of cranes for cancer patients and helped teach community workshops so that others could also make cranes to celebrate life and healing, and to share them with cancer patients and/or bereaved families.

If you are inspired to fold cranes, we welcome donations of origami cranes and will find homes and purposes for them!
